Move Tax Day to the day before Election Day

Created by M.L. on November 13, 2012

Given that one's federal taxes are the biggest impact on each individual that the federal government has each year, it seems only fair that this payment be fresh in the mind of every voter immediately before they vote for who is to serve them as President, Senator, and Congresspersons, so that their elective choices will be made with an eye toward achieving and maintaining fiscal sanity. For this reason, we petition the president and congress to move tax day (currently April 15th), when individual tax returns are due to be mailed to the IRS, to either the day before Election Day (currently November 6th in 2012) or the previous working day, but no sooner in the year than October 31st.
