Move Thanksgiving Day to 3rd Friday of every November in order to give every family a long weekend to enjoy their feast!

Created by N.M. on November 10, 2015

In 1863 when Thanksgiving was first declared a National Holiday in the US, Family life was much much different than it is today. Until 50 years ago every family had a women or help in the home to cook and clean and shop for their Thanksgiving meal. Families today are so stretched for time and MANY of those families are then expected to be at work the next day, exhausted, their houses a mess, their kids needing a sitter because there is no school. It's all just a little too much for the average working family to put together on Thursday night. Wouldn't it be SO much nicer to have all week to shop, to prepare Thanksgiving dinner with your family and be able to spend a long weekend sleeping in, going shopping on Saturday and really enjoying your holiday the way it was meant to be enjoyed?
