There is serious potential for accidents from people rushing home on Thanksgiving night, especially if alcohol is involved, so they can go to work Friday morning. It would allow people to enjoy Thanksgiving as the family oriented holiday that it is without the added stress of the drive back home just to make it in to work the next day.
