Move Thanksgiving to October to return it to a real harvest time, and to have much better weather for a needed break.

Created by B.L. on November 27, 2013

Why move Thanksgiving to mid October??
1. Weather in late November is miserable, often stranding flights and drivers
2. Weather in October is some of the best of the year in most parts of the country...fall leaves, warm sun, cool nights.
3. October is the REAL harvest season...pumpkins, roasting chili peppers, potatoes, carrots.
4. Thanksgiving is too close to Christmas. New Thanksgiving provides a needed break halfway between summer and Christmas.
5. It’s so close to Christmas that it's all about shopping. Black Friday, lines, etc.
