In over 200 years of being a country, voting is still the most important part of being a citizen, but it is in some ways harder now compared to the early 1800s. We have to get to the polling place, wait in line, and finally vote, all the while dealing with our jobs and families. That is a lot to tackle, even with all of our modern conveniences.
Things would be vastly easier if we had the day off, as a national holiday, thereby guaranteeing a more engaged electorate, in addition to a more available one. Therefore, on behalf of all Americans wanting a representative elected body of the people, I propose we establish our national elections as federal holidays.
Voting is the right of all, so let's ensure it is available to all!
