The U.S. Coast Guard, being a member of the Armed Forces, seems to short on funding and is threatened on a yearly basis of shutdown due to lack of funding. This petition request that the U.S. Coast Guard be moved from the DHS to the DOD alongside the other services. This would allow for better funding appropriation and less likely hood of funding stopped. The service already does more everyday with less than any other service. The U.S. Coast Guard is deployed alongside the other services all around the world, why should they not receive similar funding?
