To move the U.S.A forward in converting to the International System of Units (Metric) as its primary form of measurement

The United States is one of only a few nations that do not use the International System of Units (Metric System) as its standard of weights and measures. Even though the Metric System is being used continuously in the U.S. as well as around the world in most technical, medical, and scientific fields, the system is not being used universally in day to day applications. The consequence is that U.S. citizens must use two unrelated systems of measure when only one is needed. We urge this administration to consider the benefits to our economy, education, and communications that consolidating to one system would effect. Please take steps in rectifying our national position on this issue.
