The right to choose our country's leaders is a fundamental building block of our country. And we need to remember that our soldiers are out there, each and every day, fighting to protect and preserve that right.
Election day should be a day of celebration for our country as well as a day of remembrance of what protecting this right has cost our country. What better way to honor both our past and present war veterans than to merge these two celebrations into a major holiday?
They are already so close together. If we merge the two, we will make a stronger celebration for those that have fought so gallantly to protect our country - and we will guarantee that every citizen have to opportunity to pay proper respect to our veterans by exercising their constitutional right to vote.
