At the core of our democracy is the legitimacy of the voting process. This legitimacy is established in large part due to a legal, equal, unfettered, and ubiquitous ability to exercise our voting rights. In light of the recent disaster in the Northeast, and the displacement of citizens it has wrought, we believe that it would be reasonable, fair, and prudent to move this years national voting date ahead by two weeks to ensure that everyone who wants to vote is able to cast their ballot.
