move the withdrawal date of Afghanistan from 2014 to 2013. End the war in Afghanistan and invest in U.S. infrastructure.

Created by L.G. on March 11, 2012

Sixty billion of dollars have been wasted through the war of Afghanistan and Iraq while infrastructure within the U.S. has fallen into gross disrepair. This waste is not only a result of fraud, but a lack of oversight of contractors. Moreover, combined with the fact that Hamid Karzai, current leader of Afghanistan is corrupt in addition to the protests over the burning of the Qur'an, there is little reason to maintain the occupation as tensions begin to rise. Furthermore, the human cost of war has not only resulted in civilian deaths and the deaths of those in the military, but a wave of veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. If the military can not withdraw in the year 2013, there should at least be efforts to withdraw most of the military force by then.
