Moving Marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule IV on the DEA drug schedule list.

Created by D.S. on April 05, 2014

I move that Marijuana be Moved from schedule I, alongside drugs like Heroin, Cocaine, and Methaqualone; to schedule IV, alongside drugs like Xanax, Darvon, and Valium. This will allow States to exercise their rights to deal with Marijuana law as they see fit and remove much of the Federal entanglement involved in State Marijuana law. I feel that while there is some risk of psychological addiction from use, the possible benefits outweigh the risk by far. The physical risk, as we know it, so far is nominal. Especially when you compare it (Marijuana) to Heroin and Cocaine. Which according to recent research by the CDC are currently killing less people than prescription painkillers. It is time we return to people their inalienable right to pursue happiness and States rights.
