Mr. James Pettit, an American diplomat and United States Ambassador to Moldova, said that “Moldova is not Romania”, “Moldova has its own history”. We, the Romanians from the United States of America, from both sides of the river Prut, and all around the world, would like to know in which textbooks he read that Moldova has its own history. Also we would like to know if this is the message that the government of United States told him to send to the public or if it was only a personal opinion (probably based on his experience as Consul General at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow). In case that was only his opinion, we hope that the U.S. Government will recall Mr. Pettit due to the huge damage and danger created by his opinion at the eastern border of Moldova and of Romania (a NATO member).
