Mr. Obama we would like to ask for Christmas Eve off this year as federal employees because it is a 'green' idea.

I would implore our greatest president to grant all federal employees (not including the postal service) Christmas Eve as a holiday because;
1. It is the green thing to do as a lot of federal employees take the day off and most buildings would be taxed by keeping full service utilities in place for a 'skeleton crew'.
2. We have endured the shutdown and we wanted to work the whole time. Most of us are saddled by paying back state unemployment and the holidays are so close.
3. We have all endured pay freezes and no bonuses for many years and the private sector is and has been getting bonuses for the past few years. I mean it is only fair that we who serve them get fair treatment.
