Mr. President, you are correct that if Republicans fail to agree to raise the debt ceiling, they are deliberately forcing our country to default on its obligations for spending that has already been approved by Congress. This "hostage taking" by Republicans is unacceptable and it is vital that you do not waver on your position that you will not negotiate over raising the debt ceiling.
