Mr. President, I would like to create a petition to at least decriminalize marijuana at the federal level.

If the federal government would decriminalize marijuana at the federal level, it would leave it up to the states to make up their own laws whether it is legalization or just decriminalization. In my opinion the laws punishing people for marijuana are harsher than marijuana itself. Also the harsh penalties on marijuana in the United States creates a black market that other countries are taking advantage of which doesn't keep American money in America as well as creates terrible violence because dangerous people run the black market. I think it should be left up to the people of America to decide instead of the government saying what's right or wrong just because it has the label of a Schedule I drug, I just hope democracy prevails.
