On 2011, Veronica was removed from the only family she knew in SC as a 27 month old little girl due to the misapplication of the Indian Child Welfare Act. Her birth father used ICWA to block her adoption. On 6/25, the SCOTUS issued a ruling that ICWA did not apply to her adoption and expeditiously remanded the case back to the SCSC. Upon receipt of their orders, the SCSC ordered that the adoption be finalized and she be returned to her family in SC. On 7/31 the family court presented Capobiancos with their adoption decree and ordered a transition plan. Birth father since has used legal tactics to avoid complying with the law. SCOTUS and the SCSC understand the urgency of this matter, please order federal authorities to intervene in this matter and return Veronica Capobianco to her parents.
