Mr. President, whereas it is an honor to have you visit our fair city, I implore you to reschedule the fundraiser in Austin, Texas on March 11. Some facts: 1. The population influx during the SXSW festival brings by most average estimates 300,000 visitors. All of these visitors are attending events in the downtown area. 2. One of our major thoroughfares is under major construction (in the downtown area) and is already contributing to a grossly inadequate traffic infrastructure. Although your visits are generally welcome, this one is ill timed and will paralyze our city and quite possibly hurt the economy that our city is known around the world for. Your safety is obviously a priority but considering the toll it would take on our city, please reconsider.
