In Hargeisa, Somaliland a Museum of War & Peace was recently established. This Museum was established for a several purposes including:-
To study the records of genocide and war crimes that took place in Somaliland during the war with Siyad Barre regime.
To create a gallery and museum for the genocide and war crimes, freedom fighters and their history and all important moments and fights during 1980 – 1991.
To keep and save the archives of dark chapters of Somaliland history and to teach children the difference between war & peace
To advocate prevention of genocide and war and the promotion of peace.
Mr: President support bringing justice to the people that took part the war crimes of Siyad Barre regime that happened in 1980 to 1991.
