Mr. President Please Take WhiteHouse.gov/Petitions Offline Permanently

We seek to have the President of the Unites States remove the pages of WhiteHouse.gov/petitions because its use undermines the norms of personal accountability because invariably fanatics use such social platforms to assert their wants, needs and desires over that of the Silent Majority. Self-interest is ubiquitous among humans under all political and economic systems. The extremes of self-interest—selfishness and greed—lead to a desire for unearned benefits and to organized pressure on governments, corporations and other public and private institutions to provide them. Thus I argue that self-interest, like an invisible hand, leads not to personal or collective prosperity but rather to socialism, or an ever-growing welfare state. Help end organized violence by removing this website.
