We, the citizens of Kazakhstan and the United States, are concerned about the fate of Mukhtar Ablyazov, the Kazakh dissident and leader of the democratic opposition, who was detained on July 31, 2013, in Cannes, France.
Mukhtar Ablyazov's wife and 6-year-old daughter were recently illegally deported from Italy to Kazakhstan. This was essentially a kidnapping, illegally organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Italy. Mukhtar Ablyazov, who is fighting for democratic change in the country. Nazarbaev's dictatorship regime is willing to do anything, including kidnapping close relatives!
We request that you prevent the extradition of Ablyazov from France to Kazakhstan or the other countries of the former Soviet Union (Ukraine and Russia).
