Mullaperiyar dam in India was constructed in1895 by the then British government on the river periyar.The Mullaperiyar dam is situated in Kerala, but is operated by Tamilnadu. It has been almost 116 years and not much major reconstruction or renovation has been done to the dam.Now the dam is deteriorating fast with the erosion of limestones and cracks.If the dam breaks more than 50 lakh people will be washed away into the arabian sea. Since India government is not taking adequate measures about this problem.
The recent earthquake occurred in the state have shaken completely and the leakage through fissures developed after it has alarmingly been increased
We people of India kindly request you to compel India government to decrease the water level and force them to construct a new dam
