Municipal Sports League

Created by G.R. on September 24, 2011

As a way to create jobs and revitalize our cities the government should establish a Municipal Sports League, a sports league for medium size cities. It would be an alternative to college sports, for young athletes who want to get paid to play right out of high-school, and skip the bullshit of "amateur athletics". Franchise profits (generated through ticket sales and broadcasting contracts) would go to the host cities for schools, hospitals, road and bridge repair/construction, etc. The need for support staff would be a new source for permeant jobs. Downtown businesses would also benefit from the regular influx of fans coming to the games. The League would spin-off jobs and profits to the local economy. The games would lead to community pride and good-natured rivalry among local towns.
