My 68 y/o grandfather receives $18.47 of food stamps each month. That's ridiculous and I demand a response.

I'm a 18 year old undecided voter and will remain that way until I get respectable answer. My grandfather who owned multiple stores is now unable to work and receives $18.47 each month for food stamps. I got friends my age receiving food stamps for $200+ each month. Explanation, please.
