My petition is about saving one of our nations pride and joy. The SS United States the faster ship ever built.

The petition is the save the last of the United States Line the faster ship ever built the SS United States. One of the pride and joy of America. Built back in the 50s the ship broke the record taken the title from the Queen Mary. The ship had a short life and was retired in the summer of 1969 due to the jet age. The ship was brought to a dock in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was largely forgotten. Now in 2013 the ship is in danger of being scraped. The ship name the Big U is one of best known ships to be produce in the US. Her top speed out paces the ships of today. Reaching 40-50 mph. The most know speed of the ship was close guarded secret.
