Albert Belle produced a season for the ages in 1995 by hitting 50 homers and 52 doubles. He produced a 7.6 WAR, a wRC+ of 174 and led the league in slugging with a .690 mark. In addition, the Cleveland Indians won 100 games in a strike shortened season and won the American League Central by 30 games.
Despite these accomplishments, Mo Vaughn was named the American League MVP that season. Mr. Vaughn was inferior to Belle in every meaningful offensive category. Furthermore, the Red Sox finished 14 games worse than the Indians. We must correct this grave injustice by rightfully naming Albert Belle the 1995 American League Most Valuable Player.
