We petition the White House to name the first Friday of every August "Jerry Garcia Day." Jerry Garcia (8/1/42 - 8/9/95) was a great musician in the American tradition who influenced millions with his art. The day would honor his contribution to the country and the world and would provide fans and non-fans alike a day to reminisce and learn about his life and art.
