This petition is in honor of my mother, Martha "Marti" Ellen Myers. She went missing in August of 2013 and was laid to rest in October 2013.
Missing Persons ages 19 to 64 have no alert system in place that families and authorities can rely on to send out a mass notification to the media, the Department of Transportation, and the public, of a missing persons status. The only way an alert is sent out in this age range is if there is a pre-existing mental illness or urgent medical need.
The thousands of families whose loved ones do not fit that criterea are left to their own devices. Help me .. "to change the world, first step is hardest of all."
