Since the onset of the Industrial Revolution and the founding of modern warfare, a staggering number of civilian lives have been lost due to the violence of war and the war related issues that follow.
In World War II alone it is estimated that between 50 and 60 million civilian lives were taken through bloodshed, famine, disease or various other crimes against humanity. That is roughly twice the number of military deaths.
Today, we still see a staggering number of civilians killed in war. The wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria are responsible for the deaths of 200,000 unnamed and unremembered civilians.
Please see to it; that while these civilians representing every race and nationality may forever remain unnamed; on September 11th, annually, they shall be remembered.
