On December 8, 2016, the United States lost a true hero with the passing of John Glenn. Colonel Glenn flew 149 combat missions in World War 2 and Korea as a Marine Corps aviator, was the first American to orbit the Earth, and served as a Senator for the state of Ohio. In recognition of his great service to this country, we, the people, ask that the administration name a United States Naval vessel after the Honorable Senator Glenn.
