NASA needs money to continue build Space Shuttles. If NASA does not have money, they have to lay off employees. And that just makes the job problem in the United States worse.
We need Space Shuttles for discovery. Without discovery we can't learn anything new. The United States can't keep buting seat of Russian Soyuz.
