Indeed it is a thin line between declaring war & simply using military force. In the case of Syria, some have said President Obama must tread lightly due in part to his previous ridicule of President Bush using similar tactics without consulting Congress. Additionally, many Americans, on both sides of the aisle feel we are in no position to be using our assets to solve problems other than our own.
I respectfully ask the President to consider the current political climate. Look at the polarization of our country & seize the moment to bridge the division amongst our representatives by engaging Congress in the matter of Syria. Even if he ultimately has the decision power, listening to their perspectives will only help him weigh the options before him.
