require all new buildings be equipped with solar panels and power storage batteries. bury new electric lines linking the whole country. charge a small maintenance fee to upkeep the system ($10 per 1000 sq feet). allow long term financing at very low interest for people to afford to pay for the upgrades to their homes/buildings (20 years 2%). keep all hydro electric plants and make solar and wind farms on vacant land. give a time period for an area to be upgraded (5 years), and when its up, shut down the coal and nuclear plants that are feeding the area. this makes manufacturing, construction and electrical jobs as well as protects the environment from coal pollutants and sludge disposal problems. with everyone linked we can draw power from each other as needed.
