We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

National Hearing Protection Act

Created by J.B. on November 15, 2016

Honorable members of Congress and Mr. President,

I would like to request consideration of a National Hearing Protection Act in the upcoming year. Hunters are currently being forced to listen to the report of their rifles with no hearing protection due to suppressors (commonly referred to as silencers) being classified as a Title II weapon by the National Firearms Act and illegal to hunt with in most states. There are regulations in place that make it extremely difficult to purchase a suppressor which include a $200 tax, extended wait times, and putting law abiding citizens on registries. Therefore, I would like to request suppressors be removed from the NFA and considered nothing more than an accessory that any retailer can sell freely.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
