National Holiday in remembrance of the million of Slaves's lives lost

This petition is overdue to officially recognize the lives of African Slaves that was lost during the slave trade sanctioned by the government of the United States of America. I sincerely believe that there is an overdue debt owed to the memory of those innocent human beings who were scarificed for nothing more than greed. There needs to be a monument to recognize the huge injustice that was perpetrated against the slaves erected on the National Mall and a National Holiday for everyone to remember. The date should be December 6th, the date that the 13th Amendment freeing the slaves was ratified by the United States of America. Not to do this would be an abomination, and I believe that none of the souls of these innocent builders of this great country will rest until this happens.
