Citizens who have been incarcerated and paid their debt to society said by a jury of peers said they may pay to get their freedom back. Afterwards they deserve their basic civil right of voting to be restored as they return to being taxpaying citizens. This is the classic "Taxation without Representation". Why should they continue to be penalized & treated as 2nd class citizens if the sentence given was their payment to society and paid the price already? How are we helping them if we continue to punish even after they did what was asked of them? And we wonder WHY they re-offend! Because we don't give REAL 2nd chances...
