With the recent recognition of the great Bison as the national mammal. It is now time to recognize our mystical roots. I nominate Bigfoot as the national mystical animal.

In North American folklore, Bigfoot is usually described as a large, hairy, bipedal humanoid. The term sasquatch is an Anglicized derivative of the Halkomelem word sásq'ets.
