The nation is divided on the issue of same sex marriage. The current situation is deplorable. Some states have legalized same sex marriage, while others have banned it. In California, the voters attempted to settle this issue on the ballot only to be told by the courts that their vote does not count. This is unacceptable. This issue needs to be settled by “We the People.”
The issue at hand is the nature of society itself. Instead of a small group of citizens telling us what we should or should not allow, or the court telling us that our will is unconstitutional (as in California), it is time that “We the People” decide this issue with our votes.
