Instead of the government purchasing weapons from private corporations such as Lockheed Martin, Boeing, and Northrop, the government should hire scientist and engineers, buy out the means of production from said companies and build it's own weapons. This will stop the military industrial complex from bribing members of congress and coercing them into having us go to war just so they can get richer. This will also incentivize the government into being frugal when it comes to defense.
