These organizations currently represent a treasured American institution. They fund vital scientific endeavors. More importantly is the American people's trust in its magazines, its books, and its TV channels. We believe, in light of the for-profit venture that is National Geographic Partners LLC, that the public good could be better served if the National Geographic Society and National Geographic Partners LLC were nationalized into a State-owned enterprise. This could allow for government funding of the institution, as well as the creation of a charter that enforces the values of the National Geographic Society.
We also believe that Twenty-First Century Fox Inc. , the majority owner of National Geographic Partners LLC, should be compensated as due, as this does come at their loss.
