This is a petition to federally legalize marijuana. By legalizing marijuana the government can profit from taxable means and regulate similar to alcohol. Legal marijuana would eliminate cross-border drug trafficking and the violence commonly associated with drug trade. People suffering illness could freely use the alkaloids within the plants to aid their symptoms. This proposed petition would allow our law enforcement officials across the country to focus on real and violent crimes. There would be no illegal market and all profits from commercial sale would be providing the nation with a sizable tax revenue. Youth would not be subjected to institutional life due to possession.
