In order to serve in the U.S. military all that is needed is a green card. Many immigrants love this country and have served during recent conflicts. The naturalization process is streamlined for them, but many, for a variety of reasons, complete their service before the process is finalized. This country is all too familiar with the physical and psychological wounds of war. Did you know that if one of these patriots serves, struggles with what may be war related issues, and is subsequently arrested, they can and have been deported? This scenario plays out for many veterans, only they don't face deportation as a result. Deporting our veterans deprives them of access to care through the VA that they earned through service to this country. Join me in demanding a change to policy.
