Naval Honors for Captain Charles Butler McVay III

Created by A.W. on March 19, 2013

Dear President Obama,
I recently saw the entire story of the USS Indiana on the History channel. In following this story Captain Charles Butler McVay III was cleared in 2000 but I would like to know why this officer was not presented with the highest honors our government can present to a Naval Hero? Before the remaining survivers pass away I feel that it is our governments duty to allow this senior officer's records to reflect his dedication and service to our country in a time of war. As the son of a Navy veteran I feel it is my duty to find out the truth of these types of events and do my best to correct them for future generations to see.I hope that others come forward as well and sign this petetion in support of honoring Captain Charles Butler McVay of the USS Indiana.
Thank you!
