Kenneth Bae, an American, was detained and placed into a North Korean prison camp last year for "hostile acts to bring down its government". He went into North Korea legally, for the purpose of doing missionary work. For some reason most people are not aware that one of our own people is being held in North Korea.
Bae has been sentences to 15 years of farm labor for 8 hours a day, everyday. Here in the US, he has his wife and kids, awaiting the US government's help. It appears that not many people are aware that one of our own people is being held in North Korea, undergoing hard manual labor.
It has been reported that Bae has lost more than 50 pounds and has a variety of health complications.
