Obama stated in the second debate that he wanted to re-institute an assault rifle ban. Assault rifles fall under two categories. Automatic and semi-automatic. Automatic weapons are already illegal and assault rifles now available on the market are semi-automatic. The difference between hunting rifles and assault rifles are the furnishings (hand guard, butt stock, pistol grip, etc.). These are only cosmetic and in no way makes them more dangerous! Assault Rifles should not be banned!
We don't want hand guns to be illegal or taxed. If a large tax was placed on hand guns they would no longer be affordable to law abiding citizens which would limit our rights.
In addition, high capacity magazines do not make guns more deadly.
