Our politicians will not truly represent us, until a “Constitutional Amendment” [not a law], is passed requiring political campaigns to be free of private donations and to be paid for thru a Taxpayer Created Fund. The measure has to be an Amendment, passing a law won’t work. The Supreme Court can overrule a law…Only “We The People”, can repeal or revoke an Amendment.
The Amendment should:
1-Establish a taxpayer paid fund to pay for the candidate’s [reasonable] campaign expenses and prohibit “All Private Donations”.
2-Shorten the campaign season.
3-Provide free TV and Radio air time for the candidates to debate.
4-The day after the Elections, audit all the candidates to make sure they’ve complied with the law. If found guilty, jail them, no fines or wrist slapping.
