Does it not seem odd to you, that after so long, our population is practically held in embittering locations or forced to uproot because a combination of greed/cost/shortage causes property values to skyrocket ? At this point in our history it would seem that we would have learned our lesson where this is concerned, given a major cause of the 2007-2009 recession related to the housing market bubble bursting and all the lovely credit leveraging associated with it. I think that paying COST on construction materials for new housing would help combat this combined with a few price controls. People should be able to move to urban areas which are already sufficiently large, without paying 900-1000 a month. I think learned economists should be funded to look at this problem.
