In 1536 in New Mexico, there appeared the Spaniards Cabeza de Vaca, Estevanico.

In 1540-1542 years was visited by the expedition Francisco Vazquez de Coronado. In 1598, the Spanish conquistadors founded the city of San Juan Pueblo, on the Rio Grande.

1605 Spanish province of New Mexico center in Santa Fe, a part of the Viceroyalty of New Spain.

In 1609 the Conquistador Pedro de Peralta built the village of Santa Fe at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo.

But the US used New Mexico as a testing ground for nuclear weapons.

Vote for secession of New Mexico from the United States and joining Kingdom of Spain.
