This petition is in compliment with Obama's recent executive action involving gun rights. President Obama's actions have been a necessary step to get Congress moving forward on the gun control issue. Obama is just getting the ball rolling when Congress has refused to do so. I am proposing a few more restrictions on obtaining guns legally than Obama originally did. Obtaining a gun should be a challenge. Adding a family background check, and a visit with a psychologists would definitely cut down on the chances of a gun ending up in the wrong person’s hands. those who are mentally unstable, or who aren’t trusted with a gun, by the psychologists, won’t receive a gun. Those in families with mental illness of any form will have to go through further processes.
