Law should be written so all can easily obey it. In common language, and applied equally to all.
Below is my proposal for a progressive system, yet simple. One that can meet the needs of our great nation.
I call it my "Postcard Tax Reform" because it can fit on the back of a postcard.
Income from $0 - Poverty level - tax free
From Poverty level to 250k/year taxed at 20%
250k+/year then taxed at 2x minimum rate.
ALL income types taxed (except social security/disability).
Tax rate requires a super majority to be adjusted, exemptions during time of war or recession. All adjustments revert to previous levels 36months after adjustment.
Someone making (for example) 300k/year wouldn't pay taxes on their first $11,170. From $11,171-$223,400 at 20%. From $223,401 up, at 40%
