The goal of this petition is to ask President Obama to politely beg lawmakers in both the House of Reps & the Senate to consider making background checks mandatory prior to the sale of bazookas, Uzis, & Howitzers at gun shows.
We feel that such a step would not infringe upon the 2nd Amendment rights of potential bazooka, Uzi, and/or Howitzer owners.
While we acknowledge that there are some who enjoy deer hunting with a bazooka, Uzi, or Howitzer, we also see a need for some measure of control over these types of weapons.
Additionally, we would like to politely ask Congress to consider imposing a three day "waiting period" on all sales of a bazookas,Uzis, or Howitzers to convicted felons.
Finally, we'd like to thank Congress for considering these measures sometime in the next 20 years.
